Thanks for the article, Jeff. I still don't like A-Rod, I am mostly a fan of Junior and Russell Wilson, and still undecided about Stewie. She gave Seattle and the Storm a huge undeserved dis in her words about New York being the best -- that was hurtful and offensive -- plus I am positive she influenced Sloot to go to NY instead of Seattle. I am still processing my reactions. Her direct thanks to Seattle seemed heartfelt (though I don't recall her acknowledging the fans much). I'm not exactly over the moon about seeing her at Climate Pledge when we play NY. We'll see.....
I wish Stewie wouldn't have left, but I understand it. WNBA players don't make much money compared with other professional athletes and athletic careers are short. Playing for a bigger market on a better team should equal more exposure and more Pumas sold. She's also closer to home so her family can see her play. I'll cheer her coming back, but it will be a cheer laced with regret that she didn't choose to stay.
Still love Stewie. I will stand up and cheer loudly for her when she first comes back to play in Climate Pledge Arena. She probably would have stayed with the Storm if we had a more experienced coach.
I doubt it was about Noey, although Sandy is a wonderful coach. Stewie mentioned a whole litany of factors which influenced her and, sadly for us in Seattle, they made sense from her point of view. Still feels like a punch in the gut though.
I'm just sad. Not mad, disappointed.
