It's great that we could beat the Liberty, but they were missing 3 of their starters so I would have thought that we could beat them by more than 10 points. On the other hand they are a very deep team and they showed us just how deep they are. Nneka and Skylar both played well and so did Gabby except for her shooting efficiency. Dom was impressive in just 7 minutes scoring 6 points and pulling down 4 rebounds. Just think what she could have done if she had played 21 minutes - maybe 18 points and 12 rebounds or even 14 minutes would translate to 12 points and 8 boards and I believe that she would have gotten those numbers given the chance.
Dom getting experience in defending Stewie will pay off in the future. Even her mistakes, like if she travels or gets a 3-seconds in the lane violation, are fine as long as it's not costing the Storm wins (which it hasn't). The Storm aren't in a position to be playing her 25-35 MPG right now. But that's also OK. Coach Quinn has talked about them being in a unique situation because usually a Top 5 team (which they were last season and this season) doesn't get the #2 overall pick. Teams that get a Top 3 draft pick are usually the bottom feeders, but that's not the case for Seattle. Malonga is also playing behind an MVP and a former All-Star. For players like Nneka, it's about this year and trying to win a championship. For Dominique, it's about this year, next year, the year after that, the next 5 years, etc.
