I like the Storm's confidence in Noey, and also find Pokey a great addition as GM. I appreciate your comments on the way Stewie left being hurtful to the Storm. I understand her reasons for going to NY but the way she did it stunk. Nuf said.

Great! I agree and always prefer stability. Regardless of whether this group eventually achieves their ultimate goal, I still believe in what their trying to do and that they've earned the time to do it.

I attended my first Storm game with my oldest daughter way back in 2007. But even then it was still Sue Bird's team. This is like unexplored territory now. As a sports fan, I'm genuinely excited to see what they can become.

As for Chatman, could you explain what would be the role of an associate GM as opposed to Rhea as the head(?) GM? Thanks!

While we haven't had a chance to speak with them yet since the announcement. My assumption would be that she would perform General Manager type duties which would include trying to recruit Free Agents and also scouting players for the upcoming WNBA Draft. I'm sure in some regard Coach Quinn and Coach Chatman have already done some of that but I believe Chatman will be even more involved. I don't think Chatman will necessarily do anything that Rhea didn't or couldn't do. But it'll just be another person to help with all of those responsibilities. Because both Quinn and Chatman still report to Rhea, I imagine Rhea would have final say on things. Say the team is debating back and forth on who to take in the draft and there are differing opinions. I would think Rhea would have the final say (or ownership).

Thanks, Jeff, for the perspective. I’ve not been a huge believer in Coach Quinn, though I do think she’s better suited for working with a younger squad than a more veteran unit. I was more intrigued with the Pokey Chatman move, which I think is great. I love having a savvy, experienced voice helping guide the front office basketball ops. I agree with your thoughts about the value of organizational stability - as long as it’s the right people in place.

Good points. I’m not sold on Quinn but agree with the stability comments and I believe her success or failure will be if she can develop the rookies and this years’ picks. Maybe Pokey can help recruit a free agent.
