This is tremendous news for all the Storm faithful! I just found this out as I cancelled my DirecTV subscription and was looking to catch up on Storm news tonight (this morning). We landed 2 big WNBA stars who should help make us a complete team again. Besides being a great 4, Nneka should be very helpful for our young 4/5's like Dulcy Fankam Menjiadeu and Ezi Magbegor and even Jordan Horston although she's more of a wing (3) player, and SDS gives us a legit PG Superstar at the 1 which really solidifies our guards!

Well, this is certainly very encouraging. I was afraid the Storm weren't going to pull this off for a lot of reasons I've already discussed here, but I have to give a lot of credit to the front office for putting this team together. What I like most about signing Nneka and SDS, besides the obvious improvement of the Storm from last season, is that it's the first time since 2/1/2023 that it feels like the future of the WNBA is not just NY and LV playing each other in the finals.

Jeff, I know that you were afraid that Nneka was going to sign with New York for more of a guaranteed shot at another WNBA title, but I'm glad that she showed such good sense in choosing Seattle. After the team has had a chance to gel, I think they will legitimately contend with the Vegas Aces and the Liberty as the real heavyweights in the W. I'm glad that we have other veteran leadership also like Sami Whitcomb and Mercedes Russell to help be the glue to make the team really tick. I'm looking forward to your more in-depth follow-up article for paid subscribers later today.
