Right now I think only 8 spots on the 11-man roster are locked up: the 4 starters from last year - Nneka, Skylar, Ezi and Gabby plus Alysha Clark, Li Yueru, Dominique Malonga and MacKenzie Holmes. The other 3 spots are up for grabs but Serena Sundell has been called the Storm's PG of the future so she probably gets one of the spots leaving Zia Cooke, Lexie Brown and Brianna Fraser to compete for the other 2 spots. Madison Conner and Jordan Hobbs doubtfully will get much consideration for the 2 remaining spots, unless they turn their fortunes around when they travel to LA to scrimmage with the Sparks.
I was very impressed with MacKenzie Holmes and Li Yueru - both rebounded and scored very well. I think those 2 locked up their spots on the 11-man roster. I'd like to say that Serena Sundell did, too, but I didn't really see enough from her. Zia Cooke is OK as is Lexie Brown but they didn't do enough to lock up their spots.
Lexie Brown is on a guaranteed contract so she will be on the team. I'm writing a 2nd article that will go into more detail on the roster. That'll be sent out in the early morning around 6:00 AM.
Erica Wheeler is on a standard non-guaranteed training camp contract. In theory, she could be cut/waived but from what I've seen, I don't think that is likely.
