Excellent summary. I hope that we can get Stewie and Gabby back and that prioritization doesn't ruin everything for us. I'm not sure about Tina. I would be inclined to bring her back but definitely give Ezi a lot of minutes, too. It would be wise to re-sign Jantel if we lose either Stewie or Tina, though. I know Jantel didn't play at all in the playoffs, but she's good enough to play a bigger role. It would be great to sign local lady Courtney Vandersloot as our next PG and sign her wife Allie, too.

That was a very helpful read! You DID highlight some conundrums that have to be dealt with. Some are and some aren’t beyond our control. Oy vey!

My hope is to have Stewie back (everything she's said points to making her home in Seattle) and to do that, either the W has to move opening day to late May early June, or the overseas seasons have to end earlier. You'd THINK the WNBA and some of the Euro leagues would get together and coordinate for the best opportunity for ALL. But you know, the W really wants the players not to play overseas at all. Finally, the answer to the point guard hole is JEWELL. Back before Jordan Canada was drafted Sue, Stewie and Jewell spent a bunch of time working together teaching Jewell to see like a PG. They don't need a new baby Point Guard, they need to hire Sue as a PG consultant and have her continue teaching Jewell the role. Now, add a few hungry younglings and ready to play all out for 40 minutes and you've got some structure to build out and up. Finally, Tina is an asset ONLY if she'll take a pay cut like this year. It's lovely to have her to draw a dbl team, but there are others who can do that at a lesser pay rate. Ezi is the one to really invest in (I think she will be all the offense she needs to be and her defense is getting elite quickly.) Let's see how things shake down and revisit this after a month or so...

Great points, Kait! Unfortunately your post got truncated a bit. Jewell would be a viable candidate for PG and Gabby would be, too, if they can bring her back. I really like the idea of bringing Sue back as a PG coach. Could she even be an assistant player-coach?? Probably not, but it could be a lot of fun if we could put Sue in for a few minutes here and there. Local lady 'Sloot would really be the best option at PG if we could steal her from Chicago. That would be a coup.
