I would love some extra feedback on these post-game report audio podcasts I started consistently doing towards the end of the season. Because this one was so lengthy (40 minutes) and I had to do post-game recording, post-game interviews, and editing it all together - it's also very time consuming. But it does allow me to share out my post-game thoughts earlier than when I'm writing. And can release the night of the game. I feel it's a good value add to paid subscribers but I'd love feedback on it. As I'm still learning on what are the best ways to cover this team and what's going to attract the most people.

I'm definitely a fan of the audio reports. Hearing directly from the parties involved has shifted my perspective a bit, and left me feeling a bit more empathic and (slightly) less critical. I also like having something to read. Guess I'm just greedy.

Defense was terrific last night. Keeping Nneka quiet was really key. It seemed that the Storm also benefited from Clarendon not playing. Never thought I'd say this, but they are a difference-maker for LA., and no mention was made of this.

Finally, a question, Jeff: Regarding free agency, I wonder how much difference the cities (not the franchises) really make when players are deciding where to sign, given how short the season is and how much time within it is spent traveling. I'd love to know what - if anything - you hear about this.

I appreciate the feedback! I know I originally wanted to do a weekly or every other week podcast covering the Storm this year. I started that early on but it fell off. Part of that had to do with a personal health issue where I got pretty sick during the months of May and June and little of July. I did my best to work my full time job and keep covering the Storm as much as possible. The idea for doing this post-game podcast reports is that growing up I always enjoyed attending Sonics games and then turning on the radio in the car with my dad to listen to the Sonics post-game radio show. I feel this is something ideally I'd like to keep doing as I think it adds more value to current subscribers and hopefully and ideally attracting new subscribers when they see all the content they're getting.

Admittedly, this season has been a disappointment for me from a growth perspective. So I'm just continuing to work and try to find ways draw more people in and provide value to everything that is willing to support me.

Jeff... I feel pretty confident that any stagnation you're experiencing is tied to the difficult season the team has had. For a lot of people, I imagine it's discouraging to read/listen to constant struggle and disappointment. I am probably in the minority of those actually appreciate the kind of insightful analysis you've provided even more when a team is bad, than when things are going well. I've really enjoyed your work - written and audio - this season. I've learned some things and you've humanized the team in a thoughtful, respectful manner.

Thank you Eric for the kind words! I really do appreciate the feedback but also your comments and questions throughout the season on my articles. It helps me a lot knowing what fans are really interested in or curious about. Or questions they have or want to learn more about, etc. So keep those comments coming! And here is hoping the Storm add an exciting player from the draft and maybe another key free agent this upcoming offseason.

I much prefer a written report.

Don't worry Pearl, the written reports aren't going anywhere! But I do believe there is an audience for the audio reports too. I just have to figure out if it's worth the extra effort. I have to continue to find ways to expand my audience and I know some people prefer things like videos and podcasts over written word. I'm pretty confident in saying that this year has been my worst year of growth overall. I want to believe some of that had to do with the fact that Stewie left and the team struggled to find success on the court. I know in general, teams that win championships and win a majority of their games are going to draw a larger audience. With that in mind, I'm always trying to find ways to increase value for people that are currently subscribed and give others more incentive to begin subscribing. I appreciate your support and feedback!
