Clever title, Jeff. I noted after the game what a big difference it made with just one player (although a very good one) out. Another fan responded that we played a very good game — indeed. Nneka is great and she plays through lots of uncalled fouls under the basket, it seems she gets pretty beat up but handles it with grit and professionalism. I am interested in Eric’s question about Jordan; do you know what that was about? Thanks again for great write ups after each game. I look for them first the next morning,

I think the NCAA fans are also putting the pressure on Nika, with loud cheers when she reports to the scorers’ table and calls for her to get in or get more time. I wish they’d get used to the notion that this is usually how things go for rookies, and she’s getting all this practice time and bench time that will serve her well. I also wish some of those fans had followed Stewie when she came out of UConn!

Great point about how that massive college following didn't follow Stewie back in 2016. I know the hardcore Storm faithful were super excited for Stewie's arrival but it didn't hit like what we've seen with Caitlin Clark, Angel Reese, or even Nika Mühl. It goes to show us how much the women's game has grown in less than 10 years.

"Lynx finally De-Pheeted by Storm"

Crazy what no Phee does to this team lol. Completely agree for Nika, I know we want her to get her first points but she’s a pass first PG and she has to feel the pressure to score (maybe she’s scared she’ll get waived if she doesn’t idk) would rather see her do what made her great in college than force a 3 pointer. Anyways good win for the Storm hope we can keep the ball rolling

Hey Jeff... Any info on what Jordan seemed so upset about late in the third quarter? Jewell grabbed her by the jersey, seemingly to try to calm and refocus her.

Sadly, I didn't catch that. My guess would either be a foul call or maybe if there was a turnover or a miscommunication around that time, it could explain it. I don't think it had any lingering effects. Basketball can be played with a lot of passion. We see that from Skylar every single game whether she's happy or pissed off, you can always see tons of emotion pouring out of her. These are all professional athletes that are highly competitive.

For sure, they’re a competitive, intense bunch. There was just something about it that felt really jarring, for some reason. And, yes, with SDS, I always expect some sort of emotional eruption. I’m learning to swallow hard watching her gesticulations.
