I was an Owls fan for Unrivaled due to Diggins, so I got to see quite a bit of Gray over that season. I really liked her and remember thinking how much I wished she was on the Storm. Glad to see her playing well. Just would prefer it was only against everyone else :). I guess the same goes for Collier, ugh.

In response to your article earlier this week, I'm not at all surprised by how the Lynx are playing. I think there's a real chip because of how last year ended. They were/are my pick to win it all.

While watching Unrivaled and seeing the Owls play so well together, I started thinking about how Allisha Gray would fit so well with the Storm. I also thought about how Shakira Austin could be an option for Seattle, which I wrote about previously. This was also back when it looked like Seattle would be drafting Olivia Miles and not Dominique Malonga. It makes less sense for that now as Li and Dom already aren't getting consistent minutes.

For whatever reason the Storm had fumble hands this game. They are usually very sure handed but there were several turnovers from just dropping or failing to grab the ball. A weird out of sync thing.

This game was a killer for us. I definitely thought we would win this game, especially when we went up by 17 points early in the 2nd half. Our rebounding and shot-blocking has not been good. Ezi still hasn't gotten going. She isn't very aggressive at all. There's no way that she's going to average a double double this season unless she makes a dramatic turnaround. Doesn't she know how much we are counting on her to come through for us? The Dream did get some help from the refs, but we can't use that as an excuse. Nneka, Sky, Gabby and Ericka have been playing really well but they have to have more help. Zia Cooke has been a pleasant surprise and Dom and Li have done well in limited minutes, but whatever happened to Lexie Brown? She was supposed to really help our 3-point shooting. Unfortunately, she has a guaranteed contract. Otherwise I would say dump her and bring back MacKenzie Holmes who could provide much needed rebounding.

We'd better be able to beat Las Vegas again in the first game of the Commissioner's Cup tomorrow or this season is probably not going to be the big success that we've all been expecting. 3-3 is definitely not a very good record so far and I know that we can play a lot better. Here's hoping that we do starting on Sunday!

Atlanta looks really good. This is what I wished happened for the storm in the game against the lynx. I think there were so many things at play with this loss. First the and 1s were pretty egregious. Seattle wins if 8 plays were 2 points instead of 3 in that fourth quarter. The refs were ugh but how can you adjust other than letting them just score on you smh. That was a tough blow that I dont think was all Seattle's fault. The turnovers were not good. Atlanta getting 9 or 10 offensive rebounds should not happen especially with BG out of the game. And something else I noticed is that skylar had only 3 assists. In the storms losses this season when sky doesn't have 5 or more assists we lose. We need her scoring but we need the assists more. Its bonus and a great game when she is scoring 20 points per game and more than 5 assists. I think she still needs to be the lead guard at point in the 4th quarter. Its pretty obvious besides the Minnesota game (they had a great game plan of disrupting the pnr with sky at the helm) seattle thrives when we let skylar be the pg that dishes and organizes the offense.

I think the point about Skylar only having 3 assists is a big issue. And the team needs her to get others involved just as much, if not more than they need her scoring.

The more Wheeler plays, the more Skylar plays off the ball, so it's not surprising her assist numbers go down.

I guess my point is that when her assist numbers are down we lose which has been the case in the 3 games we've lost.

I guess Allisha Gray in 2022 would have been an upgrade over Talbot and/or Prince? Would that have worked under the cap?

I was at that playoff game with LVA and I'll never forget that Jackie Young layup where Ezi inexplicably put her hands down.. That's Ezi in a nutshell to me. She does some great things, but you never know when you're going to get them and you can't count on her like you can a Stewie or Nneka.

Also Ezi having a slow start to the season also is a factor in these losses. In this particular game the shots that were missed were easy lay ins that rattled off of the rim. Or sloppy passes and mishandled rebounds. I still think this team can go far but the lack of bench depth sucks. God I wish roster expansion was now. Seattle desperately needs it. The only offseason acquisition that isnt panning out thus far is lexie brown. It's very clear why zia, li and erica made the team.

I think the bench has been solid. In fact, it felt like Li and Dom Malonga probably should have played more in the 2nd half than they did. Yueru played less than 2 minutes in the 2nd half, but she scored 5 points in about 4 minutes in the 2nd quarter. Seattle could have used them, especially with Ezi not playing so well in these first few games.
